Conference "Energy renovation of traditional buildings – Tools and techniques"

 

The regional Department of Productive Activities of the Regione Autonoma Valle d'Aosta and COA energia Finaosta with the patronage of the regional professional Orders and Colleges, is organising the Conference "Energy renovation of traditional buildings – Tools and techniques" which will be held on the 5th November 2013 in Aosta, from 1.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

 

The conference will address the issues of the AlpHouse final publication "Quaderno per il recupero energetico – Raccolta di casi studio per interventi sul patrimonio edilizio tradizionale" (Workbook for energy recovery) collecting best practices for the energy renovation of existing buildings' envelope, with the aim of bringing together the topics of energy saving and quality of living with the protection of historical heritage and the strengthening of local economies.

 

During the conference which will begin with some considerations on regional architectural heritage and its evolution, the methodology proposed for the integration of conservation and energy optimisation in traditional buildings will be explained. A particular focus will be given to the worksheets that analyse the solutions highlighted for the intervention on the construction elements and knots of traditional buildings and the method of evaluation of the igro-thermal performances of building components, before and after renovation, in line with the aspects related to protection rules.
